“A man never stands so tall as when he kneels to help a child.” This is a core belief I hold dearly and is a reflection of my values. |
My name is Ross Raymond and I am running for the Katy ISD School Board.I am only one person and we have a board of seven individuals, most of whom have served for more than a dozen years each. Not only am I asking for your help to get a seat at the table, but I will need your ongoing support as I bring items before the board. All board members need to know you are concerned and are watching us as we preside over the education and welfare of your children as well as your money. As a board, we must be held accountable for all we do and recognize at the end of the day the only reason the school district exists is for the benefit of our children. Please join me in my efforts to continue to improve the education of all our Katy Kids and vote for me on Election Day - May 9th - Early voting begins April 27th. I cannot do this without your help, so please take the time to vote. Thank you, To make a difference benefiting our students, parents and teachers!I am proud all three of my children began kindergarten in KISD and graduated from its high schools. Their accomplishments in college are a direct result of not only their hard work, but also the hard work of our teachers and their district wide commitment to excellence. I am a big fan and supporter of our district as it has served my children and the children of this community well over the years. However, at the same time I do realize there is room for improvement and thus there are items the board has not focused on as much as I would like to have seen. Over the years, I have discussed and championed many of these ideas with the board, but the changes have been slow in coming. As a result I believe the children and this community, while having been served adequately, could be served even better in the years ahead. Here are these key issues I speak of and will continue to work on:
If elected to serve you I will do just that (serve). I do not look at board membership as a career move and promise to do all I can to make the most of a three year term. I need your help and hope you will turn out and vote either in early voting or on Saturday, May 9th. Here are the quick facts...I am 57 years old and have been married for 34 years to a lifelong educator and together we have raised three wonderful children - all of whom attended Katy ISD from kindergarten through graduation, with the last one just graduating last year and has now gone on to UT. I graduated from the UT Austin College of business and I am currently working as a financial and retirement planner. My family and I have lived in Katy for 32 years and are proud to call Katy home.
